So we spent the night on the outskirts of London and then took the Underground into St. Pancras where we caught the Eurostar (basically the high speed train that reduces the trip from London to Paris to slightly over two hours). It runs up to 186mph and is so smooth Levi's drink cup didn't spill at all on the trip. It goes through the Chunnel (Channel Tunnel) under the sea. So here are some photos of our travel on the first day, Friday.
Levi and Greg on the Underground
Levi excited to be on the Eurostar...we told him it was a really fast train.
He decided he might as well read the magazine like his daddy was doing.
The Eiffel Tower from a distance.
Some views from the Eiffel Tower. We walked up to the second level (which is as far as you can walk). We decided not to take the elevator to the top, partly because I'm too cheap to pay extra to ride up if I can walk up and because the line was a lot longer :c) As far as I know I think there are 3 levels.
Self portraits...always fun. :c)
Greg and Levi in front of the Eiffel Tower
So typical, but we still find it amusing. Three smart cars parked behind each other.
Arc de Triomphe. It's amazing...I think the round about surrounding it had 5 lanes at least. It was crazy. We tried to get a picture of a guy on a bicycle maneuvering it and he did pretty well, but we missed catching it on film. You basically walk underground to get to it and then can go up into the top of it. We didn't go inside, but enjoyed looking at it.
Enjoying some French pastry on the Arc de Triomphe
Always up for fun.
Walking down the street...he actually did pretty well.
Family portrait with the River Seine behind us.

At the end of the day we felt pretty good about all the things we had seen. Had dinner at a lovely little cafe' with excellent food, atmosphere and view. It was across from a roundabout with a fountain and flowers and the market was across the street (we only found out about the market on Sunday afternoon when we stopped by for lunch).
